[Europe trip] Station 4 : Vienna

Posted by Unknown at 9:21:00 AM 0 comments
Browsed back my photo on FB, found my Europe trip albums, realized that it had been 2 years since I back from the trip! And I still miss the trip so much until today. Decided to write posts of my Europe trip but I stopped writing after the third station (http://pet-sim.blogspot.com/2011/10/europe-trip-station-3-prague.html). Today, I feel like to continue my writings on my Europe trip! Wanted to recall my memories on that and tell myself that the posts for the trip must be completed until the last station. Hope that the memories in my brain still fresh :)

So, let's continue the journey! The fourth station: Vienna, the capital of Republic of Austria and also one of the romantic cities in the world. We saw many people kissing and cuddling all the way. Definitely can't see this kind of scene here. How romantic! We walked around Vienna city after our first meal there. We saw an ice cream shop and the shop was crowded. The yogurt ice cream looked so delicious. Our 'King' was so kind because he bought his 'queens' ice cream! The ice cream really chilled us up since the weather at Vienna was hot! Thanks so so much!!! I still remember how nice the ice cream was :D By the way, our ‘king’ had got married and has his very first princess this year. Congratulation!

Our generous 'king' was paid for the ice cream. His face expression showed that how much the ice cream cost XD
The tired but happy me. By the way, it was me 2 years ago :)

Next, sightseeing time!

Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museum)

Me and Karyin. Miss her so much :)

Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museum) in the night time

We spent a really great night and had a good rest at the inn. I still remember the inn called ‘Do Step Inn’, near the westbahnhof train station. The rooms are comfy and there are really nice common area and shared kitchen. The next day, we spent our day at The Hofburg Palace, St Stephen’s Cathedral, and Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museum).

The Hofburg Palace

The Hofburg Palace has a fantastic architecture. This place is enormous! Europe trip did train us in walking. We really walked a lot during the trip!

In Vienna, we can see lots of horse carriage. For many tourists, a ride with the two-horse carriage is one of the highlights. We are tourists, but poor tourists, so we walked! In fact, the ride with horse carriage really expensive! >.<

The street view

The famous mozart chocolate in Vienna

Street performers can be found everywhere on the streets.

St Stephen’s Cathedral

The mini St Stephen’s Cathedral

St. Stephen's Cathedral is located at Stephansplatz and is the most important Catholic Church in Vienna (Of course, I knew this from web :P). It has a multi-colored tile roof with a diamond pattern and two tall towers which are the most recognizable symbols of the city. The cathedral is beautiful inside and outside, but sadly when we were there the cathedral was in process of external restoration. Anyway, it did impress us!

Entrance ticket for Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museum)

Visiting museums is a MUST when you are in Vienna, so do we. Forgot how much the ticket cost, but it was well worth visiting. Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museumis an art museum with lots of masterpieces  Of course, none of us know about ART very well. We just went through all the well displayed masterpieces  However, the surroundings and the interior looked stunning!

The interior looks gorgeous, right?

Some of the master pieces. I really wonder what are the meanings behind all the drawings.

Coins collections can be found in the museum as well.

The next day, we woke up quite early in the morning and headed to the Spanish Riding School for this morning exercise. Not our morning exercise is the horses’ exercise. Should have watch the performance at night but we did not have times for that. We experienced the training of the famous Lipizzan ballet with classical Viennese music (yes, the horses performed ballet dance!) in the Imperial Palace. The horses there can walk gracefully and they looked really elegant. The morning exercise is quite boring because the horses don’t really do much, but not bad at least we did experience something different. By the way, photo shooting and filming are forbidden inside, I snapped photos secretly and here are the photos.

Morning exercise from Spanish Riding School

Headed to our next station, Munich after the morning exercise show. Vienna overall is a romantic and beautiful city with its impressive architecture. Hope to visit again if got chance.

Finished the fourth station, six more stations left. I should really speed up on my writings because memories start to fade as time passes. Getting older, I guess. Haha… So, pictures and writings always the best way to keep all those memorable moments.

Saw a phrase stated that 'The WORST thing write is better than the BEST thing that you did not write!'. Therefore, Keep on writing, I say to myself :)

p/s: I have no ideas why my wordings become like this when I published my post :(

Saturday Catch Up with My Girls

Posted by Unknown at 11:29:00 AM 0 comments
Hello, it’s July! I just had a wonderful ending for June. I hadn't seen my girls for so long, it was great to catch up with them on the last weekend of June. We decided to meet and have brunch at Antipodean which located in Bangsar. 4 of us coming from different places, of course we were late that day due to the heavy traffic there. I couldn't find a car park slot outside and therefore I parked my car inside Bangsar village which made me regretted when I paid for the parking fees. The parking fees worth a meal =.=

Finally, I met up with huiping at Antipodean but the long queue outside the cafe shocked me. The waiter there told us that he had no ideas how long we need to wait for our turn. Therefore, both of us decided to change place because we were extremely hungry and the weather was hot. We noticed a bistro named Yeast Boulangerie. Bistro. Baravin, just right beside Antipodean. We decided to give it a try there because it looks cozy although quite packed and we didn't want to walk under the hot sun. Found that it is a bistro that offering French cuisine, attached bakery once we stepped in.

Their menu and the little yellow flowers on the table ~

The bar

Ordered our drinks and meals and we had no regrets on stepped in Yeast.

Latte that I ordered. Cute latte art ! I got a bear for my latte.

Cappuccino for HuiPing. I like this, it looks like kon from Bleach!

YenChing got a lovely bear for her latte !

My egg mayo croissant, come with garden salad and fries

YenChing's eggs benedict

SiewLee's meal. Forgot the name of the dish, a kind of sandwiches.

Overall the foods are delicious, price are affordable. I like their croissant so much. The croissant was puffy and soft. There is still variety of breads and pastry which looked nice as well. Worth visiting again. Our chit-chatting non-stop as well as the crowd. We decided to change location in order to continue our girls’ talk comfortably and more privately. Any yet, we found this, Botanical at Bangsar Village II, a really nice place for afternoon tea. The air conditioning did chill us up. I really can't stand with the heat outside as the passionate sun nearly killed me.

Botanical

Tea for 4 !
They have pretty tea cups to serve the tea. Feels like want to have such pretty tea cups at home so that I can have afternoon tea everyday. Haha...
My earl grey tea. The aroma of the tea was nice. But I still prefer coffee ! :p

Me of the day. Please ignore my messy hair. I feels really annoyed when my hair length like this =.=

Spending times with my girls is always great. We shared about our life, career, love stories, worries, troubles and last but not least, gossips! Advices and encouragements from them are always warm and useful.  I always agree with best friends are for sharing laughter and wiping tears. Honestly, I feel relaxed and relieved after talking with my girls. I hope them feel the same way too. Best friends like us don't need to talk to every single day. We don't even need to talk to each others for weeks, but when we do, it’s like we never stopped talking! :) Guys will never understand this, so don't ask me WHY girls can talk so long and WHAT girls talked about when we meet. We have plenty of topics in our mind! Haha… Miss that times we had our girls’ pillow talk when we were in college times and we stayed together. We should meet up more  *wink*

4 of us. Besties Forever :)

Saturday, foods, drinks, besties, conversation, shopping. Yeah, I had an amazing Saturday with my girls and it was wonderful. I really enjoyed hanging with my besties, it really made my day! Looking forward to our next meetup! Miss ya ~

p/s: I will have another great weekend this week. Penang visit for this weeknd ^^

Langkawiiiii

Posted by Unknown at 10:47:00 AM 0 comments
Beach + Sunshine + Weekend + Friends = My lovely and fun weekend ~

Had a short escape to Langkawi last few weeks. Not really a trip, just need sometimes to relax and escape from works. So we bought the flight ticket which is not cheap at all (RM211 for two way ticket was actually expensive) and here we came, Pulau Langkawi!

Brunch time at Pantai Cenang, one of the recommended restaurant. Ambient there is casual and relax.

My chicken ham omelette with cheese that kicked start my day

Heading to Tanjung Rhu!

BFF Forever !

I never like to stay under sun before because afraid of getting darker. But I just fall in love with beach and sunshine lately! Playing with the sand and seawater, listening to the waves of the ocean, sitting by the beach and wait for sunset was just so relaxing ~

The 'muscle' guy , Kyle. You still need to train more. Haha...

Tanjung Rhu is one of the beach at Langkawi. The water considered clear and clean. The atmosphere is silent and peaceful because it's not crowded. Actually there was only us and few foreign tourists by the beach. Too bad that we didn't go for swim because we didn't bring our clothes.

Dinner time here

Seafood is a MUST when you are travel to Langkawi. So, it's all about seafood !

Fried squid

Steamed fish

Oyster with omelette

Prawns

Vegetables

So called their brand's tofu

Guess what? We had new rule on table that day when we were waiting for our meal.

Phones on table!

And how we looked like when there was no phone on-hand. Haha...

The dinner was not too bad nor not too nice. At least it was filling. So forget about it and we were going to have home party.

Liquor and beer are the MUST have in Langkawi too. The price there are really cheap. So we rock the night !

The next day, we had actually no places to go since it was raining. We decided to have our brunch at The Loaf, which is well known here. But the restaurant took us about 2 hours to reach there. We traveled almost the whole island to look for it.

Nearly die of starvation when we searched for it. Had bread first before our proper meal.

The breads there were nice. But a bit disappointed when I saw there were only few types of breads and pastries selling there. Perhaps we reached there really late. Anyway, the pizza shape pastry is unique, it is covered with coconut stripes, sugars and raisin.

The foodsss ~

Foods there are reasonably priced and the dishes were nice. Just the seating there is limited. Overall, still worth to try.

The landmark of Langkawi !

The only group picture we have for this trip. However, we left out choy because he went back Penang earlier than us.

Planned to go Wan Thai for dinner before we left Langkawi but we didn't managed to have our dinner there. It was fulled house although we reached the shop before it's operating hour. Seem like this restaurant is really famous. We went continuously for 2 days and back with disappointment. Never mind, we still have Thai food as our dinner that day at Rose Tea 2 Restaurant which located at Pantai Cenang. A restaurant that named not 'Thai' at all but they are selling Thai cuisine.

Overall, it was a little pleasant restaurant with great food and and quick service. One of the staff there even know to speak Mandarin. But I still wish to try Wan Thai one day :)

There was the end of our weekend trip. A simple and relaxing short escape with all my beloved friends. I can't wait to have our next trip. The next trip will be Bangkok ! Airasia, please come out with your promotional flight ticket to Bangkok as soon as possible :D We can't wait to explore Bangkok !

Travel is the only thing you buy that make you richer ! I want to be 'rich' :)
