We ♥ T.A.I.W.A.N [Part 3]

Posted by Unknown at 7:20:00 PM
Day 6 :   Taipei 101 --- Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area --- Miramar Ferris Wheel

Started up our day 6 in Taiwan with McD breakfast. First tried on their pork sausage mcmuffin. Erm...pork sausage mcmuffin and chicken sausage mcmuffin taste the same for me. LOL. Wondered that is Malaysia's McD is the only one McD that provided chili sauce? I couldn't find chili sauce that tasted hot and spicy as Malaysia's McD in neither Taiwan, UK and Europe. Weird~

We have no driver and car on day 6 and 7 in Taipei. So we had to take mrt and walk. It's convenient and easy to take mrt here. We bought a daily pass at the mrt station. The daily pass that cost 180 TWD (if I am not mistaken) enabled us to travel anywhere in Taiwan with mrt or buses. Walking on this cold and windy days was not a problem for us. I definitely won't walk under the hot sun when I am in Malaysia. Walking under the hot sun will kill me! Haha... So we took mrt to the Taipei 101, our first station of the day.

The Taipei 101, landmark of Taipei

The entrance fees to the Taipei 101 observatory cost 400 TWD, which about RM40++. Quite expensive indeed. We got up there with high-speed pressurized elevators. The view from the top was spectacular.

The densely packed building in Taipei city, another concrete jungle in the world.

The cute Taipei 101 Damper Baby and the cute us :P

The world’s largest exposed wind damper

Besides, we got the chance to have a look on the natural coral artistic pieces at Taipei 101 Observatory. Those pieces are really impressive. Have a look on these skillful beautiful art pieces.

This really impressed me a lot ! Take a closer look on this.
p/s: More pictures on FB ! :)

Next, we went to the place that shouldn't be missed, especially for ladies - Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area 五分埔. Always heard that 五分埔 is a shopping paradise, but we came at the wrong timing. It's winter time at Taiwan, and of course they are selling winter apparels that not suitable for us. Too bad :( In fact, there are numbers of shops that selling ladies clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and etc with lower prices. I still managed to get few pants and dresses here.

Miramar Ferris Wheel 美麗華摩天輪 , our last attraction of the day and also one of the landmark of Taipei since the entertainment park was established.

Ferris wheel that sparkling in the darkness.

There are two types of carriages, one is the normal type and another one is the transparent type. We chose the transparent carriage because it's sound thrilling! The funniest part was, the one who has the biggest body size, Mr.Kelvin Lim started to feel nervous when the carriage started to move. He even asked why we chose the transparent carriage and he was actually fear of high places. In fact, the wheel is high, it can reach the equivalent of 33 stories into the sky at its highest point. A single rotation took about 17 minutes, and the ticket cost us 120 TWD (which was a discounted prices, credit to youth travel card). The night view of Taipei was gorgeous, with all the lights. But I only have a camera with normal quality so can't really show how awesome was the night view.

Feared but still stayed calm to take photo. LOL

Had our dinner at 燒霸日系炭火燒肉店 after the exciting ferris wheel session. Finally escaped from night market foods or instant noodles and had a try on this, japanese style bbq and steamboat buffet.

The most tempting food is the unlimited Haagen Dasz ice cream! Like this so much~

The eat-all-you-can buffet cost about 399++TWD (Around RM50++). Reasonable price with nice foods! Overall, the foods here were nice, but heaty. Ice-cream can't even  overcome the heatiness of my body and damn it, my virus got 'stimulated' and my lip get infected again.  Already realized the symptoms of virus infection on that day after the seafood lunch, thought it won't come because I had just recovered from it few weeks ago. Damn it, the virus came to me again! The bad thing was I was still in Taiwan and I still want to enjoy my trip. No one can save me at the moment it came and visited me. Pity me! That was why i got lesser pictures of mine on the last few days. No mood to take pictures with the injured lip :( I had to wear mask until the last day of my trip. Virus, you totally spoilt my mood ! Arggg...

Day 7 : XiMenDing  --- Shida Night Market

The 3 guys went club last night and 2 of them were hang over. I wish to go club also but definitely no mood to go with this kind of body condition. Heard that the club there was much more happening and too bad I missed it :( So the rest of us went to XiMenDing 西門町 to have brunch and walked around.

ay-chung flour-rice noodle 阿宗麵線 at XiMenDing

Mee sua with large intestines

We had tried so many famous street foods at Taiwan, and this ay-chung flour-rice noodle 阿宗麵線 is the best for me! I like this mee sua with large intestines instead of oyster. There are no proper tables and chairs to sit and have your meal there. We ordered the mee sua and had it just in front of the shop, quite a fresh way of eating. 1 small bowl of mee sua just enough to fill my stomach and it cost only 45 TWD.

After our delicious brunch, we just walked around there and shop. It was Saturday and crowded with visitors around there.

When evening time, we met up with others and went to ShiDa Night Market. But don't felt like want to have street foods as our dinner so we just walked along and had some snacks. We went for sushi for our dinner of that day.

Didn't go anywhere after back to the apartment because we needed to pack our luggage since it was our last night staying at Taiwan. It was quite headache about our luggage, we had actually bought lots of things. Should have bring bigger luggage to Taiwan next time :D (In fact, mine one already considered big but still can't fit in all the things I brought and bought)

Day 8 : LongShan Temple --- National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall --- DinTaiFung Dumpling House --- Love Story Building --- SanXia Old Street --- Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

It was the last day for us in Taiwan. Still felt like don't want to leave and want to continue our holidays. Early in the morning, driver was reached and waited us. He felt shocked when he saw all of our luggage. Haha... We bought really a lot, I guess. We went to World Soybean Milk 世界豆漿大王 for
breakfast before we left Taipei.

Soya milk here has a different smokey and deep soy taste (slightly burnt taste) that different from Malaysia. Quite nice and the smokey taste still acceptable for us.

Our delicious breakfast!

Chai Ling needed to catch her flight at noon, so we still managed to visit few more attractions before we depart and sent her to Taoyuan International Airport.

LongShan Temple 艋舺龍山寺

National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall 中正紀念堂

And had our try on DinTaiFung Dumpling House 鼎泰豐 !

DinTaiFung is famous with Shanghai-style treats and customers need to queue up for dine-in or take away. Due to time limits we decided to take away the classic xiao long bao (steamed pork dumplings).

The soup-filled hot dumplings. Yummy~

Dumplings at anywhere also taste the same to me. Malaysia also has DinTaiFung but I really can't figure out what's the difference of the taste for the dumplings between Taiwan and Malaysia. Whatever, I just want to eat!  :D We sent Chai Ling to airport and headed to TaoYuan after that. Visited Love Story Building 爱情故事馆 and SanXia Old Street 三峽老街 before our flight.

Nothing remarkable about the Love Story Building. Just a place that suitable for couples to take photo and a place to buy souvenirs.

L.O.V.E.

SanXia Old Street 三峽老街 is a beautiful old street with its beautiful red brick hallways. The street was crowded with people, there're also plenty of shops and restaurants there. Besides the ancient buildings, SanXia old street also famous of a croissant in a shape of bull's horn, another famous food that need to queue up for it.

 steergolden-horn buns with ice cream

The steergolden-horn buns. I like this, smell nice and crispy, not really a bun actually.

The old street in the night is nicer

Alright, that's was our last attraction in Taiwan. Driver sent us to the airport around 8 p.m. while our flight was scheduled on 11.50 p.m. because we planned to have dinner there. However, our flight delayed, we needed to stay at the airport longer =.= We reached our homeland about 6 ++ a.m. the next day. Damn tired and sleepy that day. And of course, felt hot once we stepped out from the plane. Started to miss the weather of Taiwan at the moment.

Here was the end of our wonderful 8 days 8 nights Taiwan trip. Enjoyed the trip until the max! It's always fun and memorable when have trip with friends (of course with the loved one as well ^^). I feels blessed to have you guys as my friends (and to have you as my loved one too ^^) and feels even greater that we always able to hang out together, travel together although everyone of us have our own career now.

Overall, I used about RM4000++ throughout the trip, which included flight tickets, accommodations, transports, entrance fees, foods, shopping and souvenirs for 8 days. Not really shop a lot there because running out of New Taiwan Dollar. Girly apparels there are cheaper than Malaysia. Should have bring more New Taiwan Dollar there, felt damn regret especially when I go shopping lately. Never mind, I will go Taiwan again, with enough cash on hand! LOL :D Truly in love with Taiwan, really hope can visit Taiwan again in the future!

What I brought back from Taiwan :)

Dear all, don't always use 'BUSY' or 'NO TIME" as an excuse. Just squeeze a little bit of your time to enjoy precious moments with your family, friends and loved one. You will never regret on the times you spent on it. Just like me! :)

Hope you guys enjoy my readings ~ Sorry if I write about my Taiwan trip too long :P

p/s: Chinese New Year is around the corner. Wish you a healthy, wealthy and prosperous Chinese New Year! :)
